Marie Hazel Harrison
MASON CITY - Marie Hazel Harrison, 85, of 804 S. Kentucky Ave., died Thursday (Nov. 10, 2005) at Heritage Care Center in Mason City

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 N. Delaware Ave., with the Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City.

Marie Hazel Torkelson was born June 23, 1920, in Dawson, Minn. She was united in marriage to Everett Harrison on Nov. 19, 1937, in Mason City; to this union four children were born. Marie and Everett were blessed with 67 years of marriage.

Marie was a homemaker for most of her life and was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

Marie was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church; her faith was very important to her.

Marie is survived by her husband, Everett Harrison of Mason City; children, Joann (Robert) Bowers of Washington, Ill., and Janice Rogers of Mason City; brother, Richard (Leona) Torkelson of Mason City; grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Beving of Ankeny, Kimberly Roberts of Creve Coeur, Ill., Darren (Tammy) Bowers of Creve Coeur, Ill, Brian (Melissi) Bowers of Marquette Heights, Ill., Renee (Jim) Boehnke of Clear Lake, Christine Dusold of Waterloo, and Dawn (Jon) Ericson of Cedar Falls; 16 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, sons, Jerry and Ronald Dean Harrison; brother, Melford "Bud" Torkelson; sisters, Evelyn Monahan and Betty Stenerson; and son-in-law, Bill Rogers.
