Obituary from the Minneapolis Star Tribune, March 24, 2005

Gagnon Eugene Joseph Gagnon. Born June 2nd, 1928 in Grafton, ND and as a young boy he moved to Cohasset, MN, which forever changed his life. Gene graduated from Grand Rapids High School, attended Itasca Community College and moved to Minneapolis and completed an Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota. He served twice in the military. He was in Japan in the Army and joined the National Guard during the Korean War. Gene enjoyed a successful business career including 30 years as owner of Gagnon and Associates. He mentored numerous colleagues along the way and many became friends throughout his life. Gene loved to be outdoors and never missed a deer season hunting up north with his sons. The cabin was a huge part of his life and he shared it with everyone. Nothing brought him more joy than being with his family and friends, laughing and telling stories. Gene enjoyed the later years of his life traveling and spending time with his lovely wife, Karen, and their many adventures. Gene's family extends their deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the ICU unit on 2nd floor North at Methodist Hospital for their kindness and wonderful care for Gene. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Grand Rapids Food Shelf, 2222 Cromwell Drive, Grand Rapids, MN 55744 or phone 218-327-1889. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM, visitation 10 AM Friday, March 25th at St. Joan of Arc, 4537 3rd Ave S, Mpls. First Memorial Chapel Mpls 612-825-4567
